I will start with this song as it will describe the process of the album and I mention this track in a lot of other track descriptions on this project. Take after take, day after day, session after session. It took me some time to get certain songs to sound the way i had envisioned, yet I didn’t give up until they were ready. I struggled
with Accelerate, almost to the point where I should have given up on the song. I had put it together initially two years previous. Then again I had put a substantial amount of work into all the tracks.
When I finally got Accelerate to it’s new point, where it had rockin guitar interludes and chorus, I revisited tracks like All Star Sci-Fi Fan, Falling Stars, Dawn at the Lighthouse, and The Early Hour. There were
points working on Accelerate where I felt like I just couldn’t take it anymore. That it was never going to be finished or work, or be a song that people would ever like. In the past I would have given up, yet I’m not certain why I was so stubborn this time around to replace it with another song. After the song had been completely restructured, and that final guitar solo and master mix came out, about a week later I heard it in a whole new light. Regardless of what may happen or what the world thought, I loved this song tremendously and decided that I’d always keep this one ready for live show. In fact I decided to make the live version longer and really jam it out. It was time to just accelerate because in life you’re even moving forwards or back.
